Agroiris is an enterprise which specialises in marketing peppers, as its extensive range goes to show. It is the company’s star product. Agroiris produces a large volume of blocky “California” type peppers in the three most sought after colours: red, yellow and green. They are packed according to customers’ specifications both bulk and in FLO-PAK®. Lower quantities of other orange coloured varieties are also produced. Peppers lead the way when it comes to exportation. The major destination for this produce is Germany.

The company also produces sweet red peppers destined for the Spanish market where they are most popular.

Agroiris also markets smaller quantities of sweet Italian peppers, also for the domestic market. A similar amount of white peppers are also produced, destined for a very exclusive export market. All together, over 40 million kilos of different varieties of peppers were marketed during the 2003 – 2004 agricultural year.

Melons are also one of star products here at Agroiris. Over 16 million kilos were marketed in 25 different countries last year. European customers are particularly catered for due to the wide range on offer. This includes the Galia long-life, cantaloupe, yellow, “piel de sapo” as well as other, less well known, varieties our customers may request.

Yet another of Agroiris’ great products are the “Almeria” or “Dutch” type cucumbers. These are produced mainly for export as there is little call for them on the domestic market. The enterprise exports tons of this product to different European countries throughout the winter months. “Spanish” or “Short” cucumbers are particularly popular on the domestic market as is the “Black” or “French” variety. Last year the company marketed over 15 million kilos of these varieties in Europe.

Watermelons also rank highly due to the volume produced. In the spring harvest Agroiris exports millions of kilos all over Europe as well as selling large quantities inside Spain itself. From the very beginning this company has sold millions of kilos of this product to a large number of customers. Over 14 million kilos have been produced in the last months for different European customers.

Agroiris has very good courgette growers. The most widely produced variety is the traditional courgette. Over five million kilos grown during the 2003-2004 agricultural year. Due to its popularity with European customers it ranks very highly on the company’s product lists.

Agroiris also has a wide range of tomatoes to offer. Over 4.5 million kilos were produced in the 2003-2004 agricultural year. The most popular among Agroiris growers are for loose picking, either fully ripe or just turning, followed by vine tomatoes which are in ever greater demand by the main consumers of this product: the Europeans.

The two main types of aubergine marketed by Agroiris are the long, and the bulb shaped types, around four and a half million kilos are produced a year. This product is very popular on all markets and especially during the winter. It is for this reason that Agroiris has specialised growers who are capable of achieving the levels of quality demanded in the international marketplace.

The concept of service we have here at Agroiris can only be described as vocational. For this reason we have a number of growers who specialise in minority products to be able to offer the international market a full range. That is why different varieties of beans, Chinese cabbage, traditional and “mange tout” peas, a wide range of grapes are to be found here at Agroiris.
